Prime Pickup

Use Prime Pickup to discover the best pickup spots that help you maximize earnings per trip, mile, or minute, minimize time and mileage, or simply increase the number of rides you receive. The tool is powered by data from over 4 million rideshare trips taken in Chicago between May 1-14 in 2023 and 2024 to best capture trends relevant to this time of year. The insights in the tool give you a data-driven edge - helping you work smarter, not harder.

Using the tool is simple. Use the filters at the top to adjust the report by your preferred metric/goal, hour of the day, and day of the week. Zooming into and interacting with the map helps uncover the most precise insights.

For example, if you want to find the pickup spot with the highest earnings per minute on a Saturday at 7PM, select 'Earnings per Min ($)' on the Metric Selector filter, 'Saturday' on the Weekday filter, and '7PM' on the Hour filter. Then, zoom in and adjust the map to find the hottest location.

The tool may take 1-2 minutes to load due to the large volume of data being processed.

Note: In the earnings calculations, it is assumed that 100% of the fare and tip goes to the driver.

Metric Definitions

Earnings per Min ($)

The amount of money earned, on average, for every minute of driving. Use this to find the pickup zones that are most time-efficient.

Earnings per Mile ($)

The amount of money earned, on average, for every mile of driving. Use this to find the pickup zones that maximize the amount of money going into your pocket while minimizing the wear and tear on your vehicle.

Earnings per Trip ($)

The average amount of money earned per completed trip. Use this to find the pickup zones with the highest paying trips.

Time per Trip (s)

The average amount of time (in minutes) each trip takes. Use this if your goal is to complete as many trips as possible.

Miles per Trip

The average amount of miles each trip takes. Use this if your goal is to minimize the amount of miles you drive.
